A lovely elegant colt foal by the international show jumping stallion Lancelot (s.Voltaire) born by embryo transfer out of the mare Darina (s.Cardento).
Gancelot Scais won this year the UK-KWPN mare and foal inspections in the show jumping section with 78 points, the highest points given ever to a show jumping foal at a UK-KWPN grading! At the same grading his dam gained the "Ster" predicate which is only awarded to mares that score significantly above average for their conformation, movement and loose jumping ability. Read more>>
Gancelot's sire Lancelot (s. Voltaire) jumped internationally 1.50m CSI5* classes with his rider Pieter Koopmans for The Netherlands. Many of his offspring can be found in the stables of top international showjumpers like Todd Minikus (Pavarotti), Geoff Billington (Rosinus), Marco Kutcher (Tennessee), Marc Houtzager (Ramzes Boy L), Samamtha McIntosh (Tristan), Peter Wylde (Robin) and Guy Williams (Titus) who are all competing them at Grand Prix level.
Gancelot's grand sire Cardento is an internationally valued stallion for breeding who competed at the highest level with his rider Peter Eriksson. They were a solid member of the Swedish team winning a silver medal the World Championships, European Championships and the 2004 Olympics. Individually he won the Grand Prix of Holte, Helsingborg, Angelholm and Gera (twice!) Based on the results of his offspring Cardento has been awarded the title 'Elite Stallion' in Sweden.
As grand dam from Gancelot we find the mare Irina, who gained the predicates Elite, Preferent, Prestatie and Sport from the KWPN Studbook in Holland. She jumped very successfully up to 1.35-1.40m level. Out of her last 17 championship shows she won 10 of them before returning sound to stud. She produced several international show jumpers like Plato (Astrid Woss) 1.50m, Veldheer (Hans de Vries) 1.40m and Tsjakka (Hans de Vries) 1.50m. Tsjakka won in 2009 the Puissance at the international show in Lathen (Germany) by jumping clear over 7ft (2.12m)! Interesting detail is that Gancelot and Tsjakka share the same sire Lancelot!
